The AP is reporting, “July 11 is kind of a big deal for anyone looking to save some cash.
It’s the third annual Amazon Prime Day — a day when online retailer Amazon holds a massive sale for its Prime members. While Amazon has claimed success, there have been grumblings that Prime Day deals are unimpressive or involve older models. Last year, Benchmark analyst Daniel Kurnos called Prime Day an example of “how to make clearance look good.”
Today also marks the 16th straight year that 7-Eleven convenience stores will give out Slurpees on July 11th or 7/11. The company expects to hand out 9 million free small Slurpees during the promotion that runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time.
