The Beacon-News is reporting, “Aurora school district and social service agency officials said another year without a state budget could mean further cuts.
But, after the legislative session ended Wednesday without a budget deal, some said they were hopeful lawmakers would continue to work on the budget in June.
Lawmakers approved a variety of other bills as the session ended, including one changing the way the state funds schools. School districts in Aurora and Oswego, whose leaders have been among hundreds statewide calling for an end to the budget impasse, changes to school funding and payments on bills that are past due, applauded the funding formula change, but said it doesn’t mean anything without a budget to back the bill…”
