FOX ILLINOIS: Local Social Service Agencies Frustrated With No State Budget Approval

Fox Illinois is reporting, “The fiscal year begins July first and Wednesday Speaker Madigan said his party will continue working with Republicans through the month of June to form a balanced budget. Some local social service agencies are saying they cannot afford to wait any longer.

“If people are already dying, imagine what’s going to happen when those services become unavailable because they weren’t willing to take a vote,” executive director of Courage Connection Isak Griffiths said.
