How this dog ended up in a school yearbook

One of these isn’t like the other.

In this year’s Stafford High School yearbook, Andrew Schalk’s service dog Alpha makes an appearance.

“He has become a huge part of my school, coming to my classes with me, and a lot of people know about him,” Schalk told Buzzfeed of the Virginia dog.

Alpha is a service dog, alerting Andrew, who has Type 1 Diabetes, when his blood sugar is too low or too high.

“He has saved my life multiple times already, by waking me up in the middle of the night to extremely low blood sugars, which are very dangerous,” Schalk said to Buzzfeed.
