The State Journal-Register is reporting, “To most of us looking at a map of Springfield, the big blue blob that wraps around the southeastern part of the city represents Lake Springfield.

Through the eyes of a 5-year-old boy, the big blue blob is something more interesting: a dragon that’s about to devour the Capital City Shopping Center on Dirksen Parkway.

Nate Seltzer made the observation about Lake Springfield’s unique shape during an appearance last week on the nationally televised “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
