JOURNAL-REGISTER: Rauner’s budget gets cool reception from lawmakers, opponents

The State Journal-Register is reporting, “Gov. Bruce Rauner’s budget proposal received a cool reception from state lawmakers and rival gubernatorial candidates Wednesday, with many calling it an election year budget while questioning the math that deemed it balanced.

Though there was a wide range of concerns across the political spectrum, there were consistent worries over Rauner’s proposals to shift pension costs to local school districts and his renewed effort to enact comprehensive pension reform.
