The Peoria Journal Star is reporting, “The classic story “The Wizard of Oz” will be the final show of the 2017-2018 Ameren Illinois Broadway Series, with performances at 7:30 p.m. April 25 and 26 at the Peoria Civic Center Theater.

In addition to the classic story happening on stage, there is a heartwarming story happening offstage. The furry friend that will be playing the role of Toto the dog is a rescue animal, making it easy for the tour to partner with local shelters across the country to set up adoption events during their shows. The Peoria Humane Society will be hosting an adoption night before the show and during intermission outside of the theater lobby for patrons to visit with some of their dogs and cats that are available for adoption…”
