The Chicago Tribune is reporting, “The White Sox’s mission to build for the future has a twist.
A source confirmed early Thursday morning that the team has made an “impressive offer” to acquire Baltimore All-Star third baseman Manny Machado.
The Sox’s offer is intriguing, especially because of their long-standing mission to build for the future and that Machado, 25, has one year left on his contract before heading to free agency and perhaps command one of the largest contracts for a position player (along with Bryce Harper).
Machado earned $11.5 million last season.
General manager Rick Hahn wouldn’t comment directly on any reports…”
